Aluminium Fencing
Melbourne
Powder-coated aluminium in horizontal slat, vertical slat and pool-compliant tubular styles. Rust-proof, close to zero upkeep, and made to match a modern Melbourne home.
Why Aluminium Fencing?
Aluminium fencing is the premium choice for Melbourne homeowners who want the contemporary look of modern slat fencing without timber's maintenance demands. Unlike timber, aluminium never rots, warps, or requires repainting. Unlike steel, it never rusts, making it ideal for Melbourne's coastal suburbs.
We supply and install powder-coated aluminium in over 20 standard Dulux colours plus custom colour options. All extrusions are 6060-T5 marine-grade alloy, suitable for Melbourne's variable coastal and inland conditions.

See the powder coat on a real boundary, not a chip
A powder coat reads completely differently at fence scale than on a small sample. Tap a colour to wrap a real Melbourne backyard.

On-screen colours are indicative and shift in daylight. Colour names reference Dulux(R) and Colorbond(R) shade matches, trademarks of their respective owners. We bring physical samples to your free measure.
The one decision that changes everything: the gap
On an aluminium slat fence, the gap between blades is the single control that sets your privacy, your airflow, your price, and how deep the footings have to go. Slide it and watch the trade-off move. These screening figures are indicative, not measured.
Balanced
The value pick. Best privacy per dollar for a slat look.
Air passes through the gaps, so wind load and footing spec sit in a sensible range.
Screens the yard while keeping the fence feeling light. Melbourne's most-chosen setting.
Want total privacy on a budget? Buy Colorbond® instead.
If your goal is a solid, see-nothing boundary at the lowest price, aluminium slat is the wrong tool. Closing the gaps to full privacy makes it the dearest way to build a solid fence and loads up the footings. A Colorbond® steel fence gives you 100% privacy for roughly half the upfront cost. We fit both, so we will tell you straight which one your boundary actually needs.
Screening percentages are indicative estimates for straight-on viewing and vary with slat width, viewing angle and height. Wind-load and footing requirements are directional and confirmed on site against AS/NZS 1170.2. Colorbond® and Dulux® are trademarks of their respective owners.
Horizontal, vertical, or pool tubular
Orientation is a look and a function choice, not just taste. Here is how the three read on a Melbourne boundary.
Most specified01Horizontal Slat
Long low lines that make a block feel wider. The contemporary render-and-timber-look favourite. Blades run left to right on concealed rails.
Heritage-friendly02Vertical Slat
Upright blades that echo a traditional picket rhythm and shed water fast. Suits period frontages and sloped sites where horizontals would step awkwardly.
AS 1926.103Pool Tubular
Round or square tube with a maximum 100mm aperture and non-climbable zones for pool-barrier compliance. A different job to a privacy slat fence, verified by inspection.
What actually moves an aluminium price
A cheap-per-metre quote usually hides one of these six. Here is what to check before you sign.
Height
A 1.8m run carries more blade and taller posts than a 1.2m front fence. Each step up moves the per-metre rate.
Gap / solidity
Tighter gaps mean more blades per metre and more wind load, so a near-privacy fence costs more to build and to footing than an open screen.
Slat width
65mm, 90mm and 120mm blades price differently. Wider blades cover height with fewer pieces but cost more each.
Colour
Standard Dulux powder coats are base price. Custom colour matches and wood-look finishes carry a per-metre premium.
Access & terrain
Sloped, rocky or tight-access sites add stepped panels, deeper footings and labour. A flat suburban run is the base case.
Gates
Pedestrian and driveway gates are separate line items, not folded into the per-metre rate.
